Preserve the past for the future, but enjoy it now

Dear RL Reader

The Reepham Archive upstairs in the Bircham Centre has a large, varied and ever increasing collection of old documents and photographs, which our volunteers are working very hard to preserve. The collection is a valuable part of our heritage and a unique resource for anyone wishing to research the people and places that are our town’s history.

The Reepham Society presents Runton Rock: great bands at the West Runton and Cromer pavilions

From the dance bands of the 50s, through soul, disco and glam rock, to the punk and heavy metal of the early ‘80s, the best music acts of the time topped the bill at the legendary venues of West Runton Pavilion and Cromer Royal Links Pavilion.  These included, Chuck Berry, T Rex, Roy Harper, Suzi Quatro, Adam and the Ants, Motorhead, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Sex Pistols, and the Cure.

Working the Fields: Photographs from East Anglia

An illustrated talk about his work with East Anglian farming communities by renowned photographer Justin Partyka who, for ten years, has photographed throughout Norfolk & Suffolk, exploring a world of rabbit catchers, reed cutters, and the region’s small-scale farmers; a way of life deeply rooted in the past and its traditional methods and knowledge. His painterly use of colour beautifully captures the special qualities of our light and this timeless way of life.

The Reepham Society: Picnic at Salle Church

Picnic at Salle Church

The Reepham Society is hosting a picnic at Salle church from 2.30 pm this Saturday, the 2nd of August.

This is a very informal afternoon so please bring your friends and your own picnic and we will supply tea and cold drinks; we can go into the Church if it rains.  Dogs under control are fine, but please remember that they will need to be kept out of the church and the graveyard.
