First Reepham Beer Festival goes down a treat

Stimpson’s Piece proved to be an excellent venue for the first Reepham Beer Festival, organised by Panther Brewery on the weekend of 2-3 August.

The 21 real ales and ciders went down a treat and by Sunday evening there was barely a drop remaining; a good selection of live music was enjoyed by all.

There was positive feedback from all who attended – a mixture of locals and others from further afield, including one party who came from London.

Campers particularly enjoyed the fine weather and the good facilities provided at Stimpson’s Piece.

The organisers were also fortunate to have a fine selection of local stallholders providing delicious food throughout the weekend.

Special thanks to all the volunteers who worked so hard to make the event such a success.

The 2nd Reepham Scout Group expressed their gratitude to all who bought food from the BBQ and helped to raise valuable funds to support scouting in Reepham.

In particular, the scouts thanked Panther Brewery for the chance to fundraise during the beer festival and also Meloncaulie Rose for donating the onions used for the burgers and sausages in a roll. Meanwhile, sponsorship for the staff shirts was kindly received from Reepham Life.

The organisers have already received some suggestions for next year, such as offering continental beers. They welcome any other feedback or ideas to make next year’s event even better.
