Sze-Ming Cheung (pictured), 44, died in Reepham Road in Swannington at around 4 pm on 7 June. The road was closed for more than five hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Senior Coroner Jacqueline Lake told Norfolk Coroner’s Court that Mr Cheung was born in December 1973 in Hong Kong. The cause of death was given as trauma as a result of a road traffic collision.

The former Hellesdon High School pupil, who ran Casey’s fish and chip shop in Reepham Road, Hellesdon, died at the scene of the crash.

He was a member of Norwich Road Runners, had run with Coltishall Jaguars for many years and was a regular at Catton Park Run.

The driver of the Nissan, a 55-year-old man from Reepham, was arrested at the scene, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation.

The inquest has been adjourned for a pre-inquest report on 14 September.
