Local artist selected for opening exhibition at Wells Maltings

A printmaker living in Reepham has been selected as one of the artists taking part in the Connection: Open 18 exhibition at the refurbished Maltings building in Wells-next-the-Sea.

The entry from Louise Maclaren (pictured), who is part of the artist-led gallery Artists & Makers @Number 21 in Church Hill, Reepham, is called And Music They Bring Light, which is a three-block original linocut print with a caustic etch based on the band the Sheringham Shantymen.

The exhibition is open from 10 am – 6 pm daily until 30 September at Wells Maltings, Staithe Street, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk NR23 1AN.

Ms Mclaren, who runs printmaking classes from her studio in Reepham, was also selected for the recent Once Bitten intaglio print exhibition held in Norwich by Print to the People.

She is also taking part in an exhibition inspired by the GoGo Hares Norwich sculpture trail called Good Hare Days, which runs from 24 July – 5 August at the Wymondham Arts Centre, Church Street, Wymondham, Norfolk NR18 0PH.
