Hannah Springham and husband Andrew Jones were filmed by Channel 4 over a period of six months during their first year at the Dial House in Reepham, which they took over in May 2018, having opened the Farmyard restaurant in Norwich a year earlier.

Called The Great Hotel Escape, the month-long series follows several couples who have left the “rat race” as they take over historic buildings hotels in some of Britain’s most beautiful locations and turn them into hotels.

Made by Freeform Productions, the 20-episode, hour-long daytime series is hosted by Gogglebox stars Steph and Dom Parker, who renovated and ran their own hotel, The Salutation, in Sandwich, Kent for 12 years.

Each episode goes behind the scenes to meet the couples and families who have risked everything to turn their dream of running a hotel into a reality.

Ms Springham, a former TV producer, admitted: “I guess we all think we could have a crack at the hotel-running whip.”

The series is due to start on Monday 26 August, although this will not be announced definitely until 14 August, she said.

“We are in the first three episodes and, rather excitingly, the Dial House is quite prominent, which is great for us and also for Norfolk and Reepham too.”
