Volunteer work parties to tackle Whitwell Common

In conjunction with the trustees of Whitwell Common, Neil Chadwick from the Hawk and Owl Trust at Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve will be supervising two volunteer work parties on the Common in February.

On Sunday 9 February there will be a session to clear overgrown willow from around one of the ponds on the site and on Wednesday 19 February there will be a session to rake up and burn cut reed.

Both sessions will start at 9.30 am and aim to finish at 1 pm at the latest. Please meet in the layby at the entrance to the Common on Whitwell Road.

All necessary tools will be provided, but please bring your own work gloves if you have them and wear wellies as the site is very wet.

For more information, or to let Neil know that you are intending to come along to either session, please contact him via email neil.chadwick@hawkandowl.org or by telephone on 07920 537053.
