Minibus for Whitwell & Reepham Station

Whitwell & Reepham Station has recently acquired an 11-seater minibus. “We have been told many times that our facilities are great, but the downside is we are just located slightly too much out of town for comfort,” said spokesperson Chrissy Payne.

“Considering this, and the fact that the winter months are now upon us, we have taken the decision to purchase the minibus so we can now offer a pick-up and drop-off service in and around Reepham.”

Initially, Whitwell Station will be offering this service on its event days/nights with a shuttle run in place, picking up from the top of New Road and the Market Place.

“We appreciate very much the fact that we are supported locally and feel this service will reflect our commitment to the local community,” she said.

Forthcoming events include live music from the JB Band on 11 November. Julie Bunn is a local musician whose supporting band members perform independently; the band cover various artists and have been a hit wherever they perform.

Parklife are a local band that regularly play in around Norwich, often booked for weddings, and will appear at Whitwell Station on 26 November.

The music season ends with the Glamtastics on 2 December, which will be their second visit to Whitwell. (Their first was a huge success and it is recommended that tickets are purchased well in advance for all live music nights.)

At the Halloween Party on 29 October from 5 pm, FunForce entertainer Graham Andrew will be playing games, balloon making and performing magic tricks, as well as treats, with prizes for the best fancy dress.

The Santa Specials from 16–22 December are filling up already, offering a truly magical trip to visit Father Christmas. This year there will be a Winter Wonderland to include a traditional fun fair and enchanting lights.

Whitwell Station’s first Christmas party nights on 3 and 10 December will include a two-course meal, coffee and mince pies with a disco to follow. Book early to avoid disappointment.

The Christmas Eve family party night from 5pm includes a disco, Christmas ales and hot food; free entry.

The New Year’s Eve family party night features a disco from 7 pm till late, Christmas squares prize draw, with hot food and snacks available; free entry.

New Year’s Day is Steam Sunday: Victory will be steaming and train rides will be available. Sunday roasts from 12 noon – 3 pm, daily menu available all day long.

Meanwhile, Whitwell Station is steaming ahead with its small-gauge railway, which will run around the perimeter of the campsite, and continues to expand its model railway. The New Year will also see the introduction of craft fairs, antique fairs and table-top sales.
