Parson Woodforde pub and restaurant closes

The Parson Woodforde in Weston Longville has announced that it has closed “for an extended period”.

The public house and restaurant hosted a closing party with cheap drinks and free nibbles on Saturday 20 May, followed by breakfast the following day, after which the establishment “will then close for a period”.

The announcement on the website continued: “We would like to say thank you to our loyal customers and wish them all the best for the future.”

The pub is the main cycling and social base for the Wensum Valley Cycling group. The owners of the Parson Woodforde have given permission for the club to continue to use the pub on Thursdays and Sundays before and after cycle rides.

However, there will not be a bar or kitchen service, and the club will have to sort its own drinks and food and clear up after themselves including disposing of litter. The club will have a key to open up around 30 minutes before a ride, and lock up 60-90 minutes after a ride completes.
