‘Development options’ outlined for Reepham 1 housing site

Around 150 people attended a public consultation yesterday at St Michael’s, Reepham, to view “development options” for a housing estate between Cawston Road and Wood Dalling Road.

With plans for up to 100 houses, the Reepham 1 site is being promoted by the Salle Estate, which says its vision for the development is to “create something that will benefit Reepham into the future”.

The intention is to construct a wholly sustainable solution to modern housing including:

  • seeking high levels of sustainable construction, possibly utilising the Code for Sustainable Homes
  • developing homes with minimal energy requirements, perhaps to the Passivhaus standard
  • providing a sustainable drainage solution for both foul and surface water
  • incorporating sustainable transport links
  • seeking a high standard of design, reflecting local materials and context
  • making some land available for self-build opportunities

The promoters of the site welcome views on a number of issues on the development of the site, including design, transport and drainage. A questionnaire can be downloaded HERE
