Garden show raises £650 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance

More than 3,000 visitors were treated to a weekend of gardening inspiration at the recent Woodgate Nursery Garden Show.

The two-day event included Chelsea Flower Show-inspired garden designs, willow weaving demonstrations, birds of prey displays and a children’s treasure hunt, and raised almost £650 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The winning show garden – "Dig for Victory", complete with “land girls”

The winner of this year’s best show garden, voted for by the public, was the Woodgate Nursery team with their wartime-inspired garden entitled “Dig for Victory”, which cleverly incorporated an Anderson shelter with some of the design team getting into character and dressing up as “land girls”.

KJ Myhill Building & Gardening Services came second with his courtyard garden featuring a hand-built pergola and water feature.

Erin Flock won top prize in the competition and will be receiving £75 worth of garden vouchers to spend at Woodgate Nursery.
