Cushion Cottage opens handmade homeware shop

A new shop has opened on the Kerri’s Farmhouse Pine site at the Old Railway Station in Reepham.

Owned by Sally Bennett of Swanton Morley, Cushion Cottage offers a unique range of handmade homewares and gifts, with many of the products, including lampshades, cushions and crate seats, made in her sewing studio at the shop.

“It’s a dream come true to open my first shop in such a beautiful venue,” she said. “It took around five months to renovate the building, which had been used as a store for over 20 years. It was hard work, but I am so pleased with the final result. It’s such a pretty shop.

“I’m so grateful to have had such great support from Kerri’s along the way and to local customers, some who have visited Cushion Cottage several times already.

“Having the studio space is such a bonus, which means I can create new items that can go straight into the shop.

“I try to make unusual and eye-catching items using fabrics produced in the UK. Many of these are sourced directly from the artists and designers, which means I can offer products that you will not see on the high street.”

As well as her own handmade products, Ms Bennett stocks a range of complementary items made by local artisans, including copper work, jewellery, candles, soaps, woodwork and stationery.
