Post office to close during upgrade

Reepham’s post office will be closed for than a week as the facility is being modernised and renovated to a new-style, open-plan branch with extended opening hours.

Johnson’s of Reepham in Market Place has been selected to become a main post office, which will hopefully secure the facility for many years to come. It will be more accessible to Reepham and surrounding communities, as well as offering more services. The new facility will open seven days a week, including Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, and have two serving positions with hearing loops.

Both the post office and retail area are being revamped, and the post office counter will be closed during some of this period: it will shut at 5.30 pm on Wednesday 18 September and re-open at 1 pm on Monday 30 September. Books of stamps will be available at the retail end during this time. During the closure, customers will be directed to post offices in Cawston and Bawdeswell.

The shop will remain open during the transformation, but certain areas will be sectioned off while a refit of the retail area is carried out; it will, however, have to close for a time while some electrical work is undertaken, but this date will be announced when it is confirmed.

Johnson’s of Reepham apologises for any inconvenience during the upgrade: “Please bear with us through these alterations and if you cannot find what we normally have, please ask our staff for assistance.”
