Bawdeswell traveller site bid refused by district council

A bid to create a traveller site on a plot of land on the southern side of Reepham Road near Bawdeswell has been refused by Breckland Council planners.
 
The applicant proposed the site be used for a single gypsy traveller pitch, which would include a static caravan, a touring caravan and a dayroom.

Lenwade insect zoo crowdfunding for conservation area

Martin French, the owner of the UK’s largest insect zoo, is crowdfunding to create a conservation area at the site.
 
The Bug Parc opened in 2022 on Nowhere Lane, Lenwade, which was previously the home of Norfolk Wildlife Park.
 
The popular attraction is hoping to raise £5,000 towards creating a free-to-visit conservation area in part of the car park through a Crowdfunder campaign.

District council plans to introduce car park fees

Broadland District Council has proposed bringing in fees at 13 car parks across 10 towns and villages, including Reepham, in efforts to raise maintenance funds and improve management, as well as to manage increasing demand.
 
The proposals will be considered by councillors on Monday 21 October.
