Central England Co-op is building the facility as part of the development of the former station yard site at the junction of Station Road/Cawston Road and Stony Lane.

A recruitment drive has been launched with both full- and part-time roles available, ranging from store managers to team leaders and customer service assistants.

John Nickson, operations manager for the area, said the Co-op is excited about its new store in Reepham and looking forward to be part of the local community.

“The new site will feature a vibrant and modern store providing customers and members with all of their essentials, and also see us invest in the local economy and create jobs for local people during these uncertain times,” he said.

The redevelopment of the site to the north of Reepham will include a 60-bed, two-storey care home and 35 assisted flats and bungalows for over 75s, as well as commercial offices.

The project is reported to cost £10 million and will create employment for more than 150 people in total.

The Co-op said the new convenience store will be powered by 100% renewable energy and will be fitted with new energy-efficient refrigeration technologies and LED lighting.

It will also feature free water refill stations and customer seating, both inside and outside.

Mr Nickson added: “We are now on the lookout for people to take up these roles and would urge anyone interested to head to our jobs website to find out more about becoming part of Central England Co-operative.”

Applications for the new jobs close on 9 October. Click HERE for more information.
