Marriott’s Way closure for path surface improvement work

Marriott’s Way will be closed at Reepham Station from Tuesday 13 April owing to work to utilities by UK Power Networks, which is due to last for a week.

Following this, remedial work to repair the Marriott’s Way surface alongside Reepham Station is programmed to start on Monday 19 April for a further week.

This work will resolve poor surface conditions, from Wood Dalling Road to the allotments to the west, caused by loose stones on the surface, said Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department, which will carry out the work with its contractors.

The work was due to be carried out in February; however, it was delayed owing to the snow conditions at the time.

The work will create a smooth, level and well-drained surface suitable for pedestrians (including access-impaired users), horse riders and cyclists, the council added.

Detail on locations of the surfacing improvements are shown on the map above.

During the period of resurfacing, Marriott’s Way will be closed to all pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders.

A diversion route around the closed section will be waymarked for the duration of the work for pedestrians and cyclists. However, there is no suitable alternative diversion for horse riders.
