After an absence of two years, the Academy of St Thomas returns to St Peter and St Paul, Salle, for its popular mid-summer concert on Saturday 18 June.
The centrepiece is Benjamin Britten’s evocative Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings performed by Anna Douglass – French horn and Joshua Ellicott – tenor.
Anna Douglass is a former BBC Young Musician Brass section winner who has performed this work on Dennis Brain’s horn, which was used for the world premiere.
Joshua Ellicott is internationally renowned for his beautiful voice and passionate performances.
Conducted by Matthew Andrews, the programme includes music for harp and strings so is ideally suited to the wonderful acoustics of this splendid Norfolk church.
- Handel – Arrival of the Queen of Sheba
- Vaughan Williams – Dives and Lazarus
- Britten – Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings
- Elgar – Sospiri
- Haydn – Symphony No. 43
Tickets from £14 HERE or call the box office on 0333 666 3366.
Why not bring a picnic to enjoy before the concert in the surroundings of this very special church?
