Meeting to discuss more ways to help the people of Ukraine

It is clear that the humanitarian need of the people of Ukraine is not going to go away, even if hopefully it can one day move to reconstruction.

Reepham & District Rotary Club is holding an open meeting at 7 pm on Monday 11 July in St Michael’s Reepham to let people know what is being done in Ukraine and to discuss ways of what else the community can do.

The club has already sent £4,000 from its emergency fund and is now looking for the best way forward.

It has established direct links with the Rotary Club of Kyiv so it knows that any money sent is being properly used to purchase humanitarian and medical goods.

Local residents and businesses are invited to see what they are doing in a recent presentation where they show the need and the response in the areas of Ukraine most affected by the war.

Reepham & District Rotary Club president Jim Fraser said: “If you have ideas as to how the Reepham community can help people in Ukraine and those displaced, please come and share them with us.”

The meeting will include a light buffet and a drink. There will be a charge of £10, the  profits from which will go to Kyiv. To book a place please email or contact any Rotarian.
