Honey Panther ale voted runner-up at National Honey Show

Reepham-based Panther Brewery was awarded second place for its Honey Panther in the Honey Beer (3 bottles or cans) section of the National Honey Show 2013 held from 24-26 October in Weybridge, Surrey.

Honey Panther is described as a “golden ale with a bite of honey” (4.0% abv). Head brewer and owner Martin James said he was pleased with the award as it was up against stiff competition.

He admitted that to come runner-up to the winner this year, Lovibonds Gold Reserve Wheat Wine (7.3% abv), was a “brilliant achievement” as it was awarded the World’s Best Honey Beer at the World Beer Awards in 2009.

“This year I have become a beekeeper and thought it would be lovely to brew this honey ale,” said Mr James.

Honey Panther is now available on tap along with Ginger Panther and Panther Cub at this year’s 36th Norwich Beer Festival which runs until 2 November at St Andrew’s & Blackfriars Halls, Norwich.
