Public information events for Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone

RWE has begun onshore construction of the Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone, which, once fully operational, could generate 4.2 GW of electricity – enough to power more than four million UK households.

Public information drop-in events will be held in Cawston Village Hall, High Street, Cawston from 1–6 pm on Tuesday 10 September and in Market Place, Reepham, from 9 am – 1 pm on Tuesday 17 September.

Events will also take place in Felmingham, Witton, North Walsham, Colby and Banningham, and Aylsham in September and early October.

Local residents, members of the public and other interested parties will have the opportunity to meet members of the RWE and Murphy project teams, who will be available to discuss the latest updates, construction plans and all elements of the projects.

Key topics will include the cable route, traffic management, principal contractors, Community Fund, and skills and employment opportunities.

RWE completed the purchase of the Norfolk Offshore Wind portfolio from Vattenfall in March.

This includes three offshore wind development projects: Vanguard West, Vanguard East and Boreas, which are situated approximately 50–80 km off the Norfolk coast.

These projects have already obtained seabed rights, grid connections, Development Consent Orders and all other essential permits.
