Renowned oboist to conduct annual concert at Salle Church
The Norwich-based Academy of St Thomas chamber orchestra returns to St Peter and St Paul, Salle, on Saturday 21 June for its annual midsummer concert with oboist and conductor Nicholas Daniel OBE, featuring a programme ideally suited to the setting of the church.

Mr Daniel, one of the world’s leading oboe players, came to fame when he won the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition in 1988. He is now famous internationally, not only for his performances and recordings of oboe repertoire, but also for his conducting. He has performed at The Proms as well as across the world.
With the oboe ideally suited to Salle Church, Mr Daniel will be playing a concerto by Haydn, as well as conducting popular symphonies by Schubert and Beethoven.
A special bonus will be White Interment by Ukrainian composer Victoria Poleva – a haunting piece that features a prominent oboe solo.
Tickets for the concert are on sale from £16 and £5 for students and under 18s, and can be booked in advance online. Remember to bring a picnic to enjoy before the concert.
