Life models wanted for art class in Cawston

An art class being held in Cawston Village Hall on Monday afternoons is looking for people to pose as life models.

The classes, which start on Monday 6 January, will focus on portraits and have a life model for every week, apart from the first lesson, which will examine basic proportions and practise drawing quickly to make the most of the models in the following weeks. Places in the class are limited.

Clementina Sutton, who runs the course in Cawston, said the models will be paid £10 for each three-hour class (1 pm – 4 pm).

“This involves sitting down with cups of tea or coffee and biscuits in a warm village hall, with a break every 20 minutes or so, and is quite a relaxing way to spend an afternoon,” she said. “I hope there will be retired people willing to spend an easy afternoon in this way.

“I have some models lined up already, but will need more. Older, ordinary people with their clothes on are exactly what we need. Glamour, and a lack of clothes, we don’t need!”
