Bishop of Lynn visits Reepham

The Rt Revd Jonathan Meyrick, Bishop of Lynn, spent Friday 2 May in the Reepham Benefice. This was a formal visit that he will make roughly every four years to learn more about life in all four parishes of the benefice and the community as a whole.

Accompanied by the Rector of Reepham Benefice, Revd Margaret Dean, Bishop Jonathan toured Reepham High School & College and took part in a Year 9 religious education (RE) lesson.
 
He also met Year 11 students working for an Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN) vocational qualification, and talked with members of the school’s “Green Team” and its international ambassadors.
 
His busy morning schedule concluded with an interview by student journalists for the school magazine, RHSC Review, who asked some insightful questions about the role of young people in the Church of England and when women bishops might be appointed.
 
During the afternoon, Bishop Jonathan visited Pages Farm in Wood Dalling, as well as meeting church wardens and the ministry team.
 
He also met with representatives of the Reepham Chamber of Commerce and the Town Council to discuss the strengths and current concerns of the community.
 
On Sunday 4 May, Bishop Jonathan returned to preside and preach at the Benefice Communion Service at St Mary’s, Reepham, which was followed by a lunch in St Michael’s.
