Iceni Developments is inviting all interested parties to a public consultation event as it looks to prepare proposals for a new residential development on land off Dereham Road, Reepham.

The plans could see up to 90 new houses being built on land either side of the B1145 on the main, western approach to the town.
The event will be held from 4 pm to 9 pm on Thursday 7 March at the Old Brewery House Hotel, Market Place, Reepham.
It will be an opportunity to meet the developer and its consultants, hear their ideas for the site, and to make an input into the process by providing any thoughts and ideas for consideration.
Full planning application is expected to be made within the next few months for the development, which forms part of “Reepham 2”, one of Broadland District Council’s shortlisted sites under the proposed Local Development Framework.
Trevor Ashwin, spokesperson for the campaign group Realistic Reepham, said: “We’re certainly not opposed to development and change in Reepham, and we know that there will be growth in the years ahead, but we think this kind of development is wrong.
“Building housing estates on greenfield land around the edges of the town will cause environmental harm of many kinds. It will also strain Reepham’s infrastructure. Our highways, drainage, schooling and medical facilities are already badly stretched."
Realistic Reepham argues that future housing growth in Reepham over the next 15 years or so should make resourceful use of potential development land within the present settlement limit, and should take place more gradually.
