The village of Salle near Reepham has been fundraising and at last has been able to purchase some swings for the land near the cricket pitch, on the site of the Lynton White Institute (Salle village hall).

A barbecue was held on Saturday 6 June and was well attended by local families and visitors.

The swings were officially opened by Jason Greves, chairman of Salle Parish Council, and were blessed by Revd Margaret Dean, who attended with her husband Tim.

It has long been a dream of Poul Hovesen, the Salle Farm and Estates manager, to have some facilities for young children and the families of the village, “so to see this at last come to fruition was very special”, explained office manager Sharon Martin.

“There is now a Phase II being planned – a climbing tower with a slide attached and so the fundraising continues,” she continued. “The event also raised the first lot of money – £500 – so we are on the way already.”
