Reepham bids farewell to Legion women’s section

With great sadness, the final meeting of the Royal British Legion Women’s Section for Reepham was held earlier this month in the Town Hall.

This was not so much a meeting but rather a chance for all members past and present, women and men, to come together on one last occasion for a final “hurrah”, with all members given an enamel poppy brooch for remembrance.

Thanks for the food that was laid on by the committee and also to Janet Archer, who played many wartime favourites on the piano.

An enormous thank you, too, to Moira Dye: joining initially to be the standard bearer and later becoming chair, she has worked tirelessly for many years for the Legion and she has also represented us at county level.

Thank you ladies, Poppy Days will not seem the same anymore.
