Development proposals to be discussed at planning meeting

Presentations on two proposed developments in Reepham will be made at the Reepham Town Council Planning Committee meeting on 29 January 2013.

James Rennie, director, urban design of Savills estate agents, Cambridge, will present information regarding plans for consultation for development land off the B1145 Dereham Road on behalf of the landowner, Michael Buxton.

With an area of 3.91 hectares, the land, which is planned for residential development, forms part of “Reepham 2”, one of Broadland District Council’s shortlisted sites under the existing Local Development Framework, which has yet to be finalised.

The number of homes that might be proposed by Savills for this land could be 50-80.

Mr Rennie discussed a pre-application consultation document for the proposal with both the Town Council Planning Committee and the Chamber of Commerce in May/June 2012.

Meanwhile, Ian Malton of CAM Architects, Norwich, will make a presentation on a proposed mixed-use development on land adjacent to the old railway station in Reepham on behalf of HEB Properties of Hethersett (see our news story, “Plans for former station yard to be developed”).

The proposal, which already has outline planning permission, offers a mixture of retail, commercial and residential development.

The planning meeting on 29 January 2013 will be held in Reepham Town Hall, Church Street, Reepham, at 7.30 pm.
