Cheese and wine evening raises £750 for local choir

The Reepham-based Iceni Choir held its first ever cheese and wine evening on Friday 1 March at St Michael’s in Reepham, when more than 70 people attended what turned out to be an enjoyable and fun evening.

Spring flowers decorated the tables, which were laden with a wide variety of cheese, bread, crackers, salads, chutneys and pickles, and the wine and fruit punch flowed freely.
There were impromptu musical interludes throughout the evening, culminating in a rousing version of Abba’s Thank You for the Music.
Chrissie Pickard, the choir’s PR spokesperson, said: ‘We’d like to thank everyone who came along and met us. It was such a lovely evening with great company and we raised over £750, which will go towards new music and other expenses. We’re already being asked when the next one will be.”
The Iceni Choir’s next concerts are:

  • Sunday 19 May, 3 pm, Bawdeswell Village Hall
  • Sunday 28 July, 3 pm, Salle Church (with Taverham Band)
