Closure of Station Road and Town’s End Corner for road resurfacing

Work will begin on Monday 8 April to carry out major road resurfacing of the B1145 Station Road and the junction with Town’s End Corner, Reepham. The work will take one week to complete, subject to suitable weather conditions.

The site will extend from the junction with Pightle Way southwards and include the whole junction with Town’s End Corner.

To minimise the overall disruption the works will be carried out in two phases under full road closures:

  • Phase 1: Monday 8 April – Town’s End Corner and Station Road to car park entrance. Full closure between 7.30 am and 7 pm.
  • Phase 2: Tuesday 9 April to Friday 12 April – Complete Station Road. Full closure between 7.30 am and 7 pm each day.

A fully signed official diversion via B1145 Bawdeswell, A1067 Taverham, A1270 Horsford, B1149 Cawston and B1145 Reepham will be in place for both phases of the surfacing works.

Traffic for Booton, Alderford and Whitwell will be directed from the main diversion route.

Vehicle access to businesses and properties within the limits of the works will be maintained from one end of the closure at any time.

Norfolk County Council thanks people for their patience while these works to replace the existing damaged road surface are carried out.

The work, which will cost £55,000, will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community & Environmental Services Department and their contractors.

Also from 8-12 April, surfacing works will affect Bircham Road from its junction with Norwich Road to the south side of the junction of the road serving odd numbers 1-19. Traffic on Bircham Road will be temporarily prohibited to park, stop or load/unload during the duration of the works.

Meanwhile, Whitwell Street from its junction with Mill Road for a distance of 40 metres will be closed for sewer repairs from 8-10 April.

Up-to-date information about roadworks in Norfolk is available on the County Council website.
