Wider concerns over sewage clean-up response time

With new housing estates in the pipeline, concerns have been raised by residents about the possibility of “overdevelopment” in Reepham, questioning whether the existing infrastructure can even cope with the town’s current population.

“Up Back Street without a paddle.”

Recently, Anglian Water has had to deal with several instances of raw sewage flooding properties in Back Street and nearby homes. However, it took the utility company several days to eventually clean up the detritus in the latest sewage overflow.

Meanwhile, doctors’ surgeries are struggling to cope with demand, with residents facing lengthy waiting periods to see a GP.

An increasing population in Reepham could exacerbate these problems, unless the town’s creaking infrastructure is improved, locals have pointed out.
