Reepham surgery cancels booked routine face-to-face appointments

In line with the directive from the Prime Minister and the Department of Health, Reepham & Aylsham Medical Practice is minimising patient footfall as much as possible to avoid the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) within the local community.

As a result, the Reepham surgery in Smugglers Lane is now operating an “on-the-day” appointment system.

Patients are advised to call the surgery on 01603 870271 from 8 am and ask to be placed on either the doctor or nurse duty list, and will be telephoned back to carry out a clinical assessment and book appointment for the same day if appropriate.

To support this, the surgery has decided to cancel all booked routine face-to-face appointments. This means that if patients currently have a booked face-to-face appointment with a GP or nurse after 23 March, this has now been cancelled and they will need to call the surgery to make a further appointment for clinical assessment first.

The Reepham and Aylsham dispensaries will remain open as normal for the collection of medication only. For any queries about medication, please telephone for advice.

Patients are advised not to attend the surgery unless they are picking up medication or have a confirmed appointment made that day. For a confirmed appointment, please only attend at the time of the appointment and not before.

Please telephone the surgery on 01603 870271 if there are any queries or send an online enquiry via the new website.

This action will prevent the spread of the virus amongst the most vulnerable patient groups, and will reduce the risk to staff so the surgery can continue to provide a safe service to patients.
