The lights will be switched on every evening from 5–9 pm from 1 December until 5 January.

The gates will be opened for one family at a time to take a photo of children on the path in front of the lights every Saturday and Sunday evening from 5–6 pm, weather permitting, when a snow machine will the scene even more magical.

Organiser Ian Tooley said: “We have been asked again this year to do our Christmas lights display as everyone needs cheering up after such a difficult year.

“Please maintain social distancing so everyone can enjoy the lights. We wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Stay safe, enjoy the display and help us raise money.”

A collection box will again be on the gate this year. Donations will go to the Big C Cancer Support and Information Centre at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and the COVID-19 Emergency Appeal for the Norfolk and Norwich Hospitals Charity.

The Christmas lights display has been organised by the Tooley family since 1992, with collections for charity since 2006.

Another Christmas lights display has been set up on Smugglers Lane, near the doctors’ surgery, by Laura Hudson in memory of her grandfather Walter (Matty) Hall (1929–2020, pictured below), who was a policeman in Reepham. These lights will be switched on from 4.30–8 pm. There is a collection box on the gate for donations to the Big C cancer charity.
