Council leader to visit Reepham to promote Small Business Saturday

Chairman of Broadland District Council Cllr Stuart Dunn will be visiting a number of shops in Reepham from 10 am on Saturday 7 December, one of the busiest shopping days of the year, as part of efforts to promote the first Small Business Saturday.

Supported by the Prime Minister, Small Business Saturday is a national grassroots campaign to encourage people to shop local and support small businesses in their communities on the day and beyond.

The event is supported by the Federation of Small Businesses, a leading UK leading business organisation with around 200,000 members, which has run a major campaign for many years to Keep Trade Local.

People don't like losing shops and services in small towns and villages, but don't equate this to how they spend their money. Shops will only survive if customers spend locally - so if you want a vibrant town centre, you need to shop locally, and encourage others to do the same.

The District Council says it has “long recognised our high streets as the hub of communities and want to celebrate what we have to offer in Broadland”. Cllr Dunn will take a tour of some of the "wonderful shopping experiences" there are across the district in the Broadland Council Training Services minibus, and the day will be shared via the Council’s social media channels:
