Cawston remembered on film

A new film celebrating Cawston’s history, called “Cawston Remembers”, will be launched on Saturday 5 July at Cawston Primary School at 6.30 pm.

The free show will begin with a performance by the Cawston Band, which is also featured in the film.

The 70-minute film was made with the help of a Sharing Heritage grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project was managed by video production company Media Projects East in partnership with the Cawston Historical Society and local author Neil Storey.

Village residents were invited to record their reminiscences and share their photos of past times. A team of youngsters from Cawston Primary School then chose the funniest stories to illustrate through cut-out animations.

The film will also be published on its own website, which was expected to be online at the end of May, with links to the Cawston Historical Society’s site: www.cawstonparish.info/Cawston_Historical_Society.htm
