Approximately 60 kilometres of shared underground cabling will connect the electricity produced offshore with the onshore substations, which are co-located near Necton. The underground cables will pass through the Reepham district to the north and west of the town.

Construction works are due to begin on the western-most 20 km of the cable route this month, with ducting to be installed from March 2024 from Necton to the River Wensum.

A drop-in information event will be held at the 2nd Dereham Scout Group’s hut, South Green, Dereham, on Tuesday 12 September from 10 am to 5.30 pm.

Enabling works, such as archaeology, surveying and establishment of mobilisation areas, will continue along the remaining 40 km, with the main works starting in September 2024.

Another drop-in information event, which was due to be held in Aylsham on Thursday 14 September, has now been cancelled.
