Caring Friends for Cancer Mid Norfolk was formed in 2014 to provide friendship, support and information to anyone impacted by cancer.
 
The Dereham-based charity is expanding and is now holding a weekly coffee morning, to be held every Thursday from 10 am – 12 noon, starting 4 April at Reepham Methodist Chapel, Station Road, offering bottomless tea/coffee and cake for £3 with a warm welcome and inviting chatter.
 
This will be open to all to help raise funds and also provide a safe space for people who may need support.
 
Charity manager Suzanne Chapman said: “Looking around the area there is very little support in Reepham and Aylsham for local cancer services. We are hoping to link up with other charity services and provide support that is needed.”
 
Caring Friends for Cancer can provide home visits, telephone befriending and transport to GP and hospital appointments. It can be a “second set of ears” for hospital appointments and provide help with form filling and benefit advice.
 
The charity also offers counselling, complementary therapies and mobility equipment to anyone who wants it.
 
“Through our coffee mornings and fundraising and bingo events we are able to provide services to all who need it,” said Ms Chapman. “We hold monthly gatherings and outings to help avoid isolation and make friendships.
 
“Please join us every Thursday to raise funds and help local people who need cancer support.
 
“We are also in need for more volunteers to help with the charity and coffee mornings.”
