The fundraising event, organised by villagers Sarah Hardy and Sara Read, took place on Friday 30 September and saw more than 50 people attend.

The two-hour coffee morning offered a range of cakes for sale, many of which were provided by Heather Kirk from Lenwade, and the chance to enjoy a hot drink and cake or biscuit, with a suggested donation of £3.

There was also a collection for the area’s food bank, which saw four large carrier bags of food, household goods and toiletries amassed.

Cakes, ranging from fruit loaves to Victoria sponges, scones, gingerbread squares and lemon drizzle slices, were provided by volunteers from the village and further afield.

The final total raised was £644.37.
