The planning application from developer Lovell Homes includes provision for a 0.3-hectare extension to the cemetery on Whitwell Road, public open space, landscaping and associated infrastructure works including a pumping station and substation.
In the plans, 28% of the proposed dwellings would be for affordable housing, which equates to 39 dwellings. The application proposes a mix of single- and two-storey dwellings ranging from one to four bedrooms.
The plans were submitted alongside a separate planning application for a new sports hall at Reepham High School with associated changing facilities, studio, sports classrooms and parking, and with an increased contribution of £1.8 million from the developer towards these works.
The Broomhill Lane site was originally allocated for approximately 100 homes in total, with the developer initially proposing 120 dwellings, which was later increased to 141 by moving the sports hall from the initial residential scheme to the adjacent high school site.
