“I trained at Hellesdon Hospital as a clinical care practitioner in mental health and at the Julian Hospital in elderly and dementia care,” she says.

“My approach has always been patient/client focused, which means that the individual is always at the centre of everything I do and that his/her wishes are respected at all times.

“In a home care situation that means taking time to learn about a person’s background, likes and dislikes and getting acquainted with their personality and habits.

“I do short home visits of an hour or longer and I’m happy to get involved with all aspects of personal care, shopping, housework and medication.

“At the moment my clients include cases of Parkinson’s, dementia and mental health issues, and I have used my small dogs as dog therapy (upon request!).

“I have an up to date DBS and am fully insured and well trained in GDPR and patient confidentiality.

“I take this very seriously and like to think of myself as professional. Everyone I have ever worked with has asked me back and we have become good companions.

“My rates are £20–25 per hour, depending on distance and complexity. I hope that I can be of help as I find my job very rewarding.”

  • “Hilary is really caring and attentive, always ready to help and to go the extra mile as well as being punctual and reliable.” E.A., Briston.
