Walking Mill Road? Bring rubber boots!

Drivers and walkers using local lanes can’t help but have noticed the growing number of potholes, but Mill Road offers a double whammy close to Marriott’s Way – a weeks-old pond at the junction with Nowhere Lane and a perennially water-filled pothole nearby.

Both are currently up to 36 cm (14 inches) deep, and while the depth of the pond can be easily inferred from the road surroundings, the pothole looks benign but has proved to be a nasty surprise to cars, pedestrians and cyclists. It is patched most years, because the repairs seldom last long.

Not for the first time, Norfolk County Council has been informed.
