Conservatives retain Broadland seat amid Labour landslide

At the general election on Thursday 4 July, Conservative Party candidate Jerome Mayhew (pictured) was re-elected Member of Parliament for the Broadland and Fakenham constituency with 33% of the total votes.
 

Mr Mayhew won the seat with a much-reduced majority of 719 votes over nearest challenger, Labour’s Iain Simpson. In the last general election in 2019, he had a majority of more than 21,800 over the Labour candidate.

  • Jerome Mayhew (Conservative) – 16322 votes, (33.0%)
  • Iain Simpson (Labour) – 15,603 (31.5%)
  • Eric Masters (Reform UK) – 8,859 (17.9%)
  • Leyla Hannbeck (Liberal Democrat) – 5,526 (11.2%)
  • Jan Davis (Green) – 3,203 (2.5%)
  • Turnout: 65%
